Natural gas is colourless and odourless. A chemical known as a mercaptan, is added to give natural gas a distinctive odour, so that a gas leak can be detected immediately. Gas odorant has been purposely developed to mimic the distinctive gas smell of town gas, as used in the early 1900s. The smell you always associate with "gas" is added to natural gas to ensure you can always smell it.

Robinson Brothers currently has a range of delivery vehicles to respond rapidly to urgent requirements, and to provide efficient deliveries to both remote and urban gas treatment plants. The company also supplies smaller quantities of odorant in transportable containers, ranging from 12L-400L, depending on requirements.
