Welcoming New Talent to Robinson Brothers

Robinson Brothers is pleased to welcome two new university students undertaking their placements within the company.

Lauren Bickley, currently studying BSc Chemistry with Biotechnology at Aston University, has joined the Research and Development team. Lauren’s key interests are organic chemistry and chemical analysis.

Within this department, Lauren will be completing projects which involve carrying out experiments, assessing the impact different variables and scaling up processes. Lauren is currently working on the synthesis of new products.

Lauren says:

‘I would like to increase my practical experience and knowledge within organic chemistry. I am thoroughly enjoying my experience with the company thus far and my time here will enable me to gain skills to use in my final year and into future careers.’

Jaime Cook has joined the Polymer Additive Laboratory (PAL). Jaime is studying for a Master’s degree in Chemistry at the University of Birmingham and her key research interests are polymers, thermodynamics and kinetics.

At Robinson Brothers, Jaime is researching and learning about rubber technology, building on previous research to develop synthetic routes for different molecules.

Jaime says:

'From my time at the company, I wish to improve my research design skills while expanding my understanding of polymer and rubber chemistry. By completing a presentation at the end of my placement year based on my project, I am hoping to become more confident in my knowledge of chemistry.'

We wish them both every success in their new roles.
