Robinson Brothers is equipped for the manufacture and application of organosulfur chemicals.

Robinson Brothers is capable of performing numerous examples of thiolations for the preparation of alkyl and aryl mercaptans and thiols (R-SH).
Our knowledge in thiolation chemistry stems back from early beginnings in the manufacture of Mercaptocarboxylic acids e.g. Thioglycolic acid and gas odorising materials e.g. Tetrahydrothiophene.

We are able to use and apply a wide variety of thiolating agents, including:

  • Hydrogen sulfide (H2S)
  • Sulfur chlorides: S2Cl2, SO2Cl2, SOCl2
  • Sodium sulfide (NaS)
  • Sodium hydrogen sulfide (NaSH)
  • Phosphorous pentasulfide (P2S5)
  • Lawessons reagent (2,4-bis(4-Methoxyphenyl)-1,3,2,4-dithiadiphosphetane-2,4-disulfide)
  • Thioacetic acid (CH3COSH)
  • Potassium thioacetate (CH3COSK)
  • Sodium ethylxanthate (C2H5C(=S)SNa)
  • Potassium ethylxanthate (C2H5C(=S)SK)
